Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Why do I need a personal trainer?

I have met many people who are frustrated that they are not achieving their fitness goals. When you train with me you will have scheduled appointments that you are held accountable for. I give reinforcement, motivation and support. You will learn how to exercise properly using the correct form and thereby avoiding injury. I will modify the structure of your exercise program regularly to keep it enjoyable and challenging. Together we'll set realistic goals and work as a team to meet those goals.

  2. Am I better to exercise at home or in a gym?

There is no right or wrong answer. You should choose the location where you are most comfortable. My service is very convenient because it allows you to work out in the comfort of your own home. If you are new to exercise and are concerned about feeling self-conscious in a public setting then in-home training may be the ideal choice for you. There are no obligatory monthly fees or hidden costs. You will have my undivided attention without the travel costs or time wasted driving to and from the gym.

  3. When is the best time to exercise?

Whatever time works best for you. Some people exercise best in the morning when they are fresh, while others find they have more energy and focus later in the day after they have had a few meals. I am very flexible with times and availability, so we can try several different times and then decide which ones work best for you.

  4. How many times a week should I exercise?

A good rule of thumb is to get 30 minutes of physical activity 5 times a week, and at minumim, 3 times per week. Walking, swimming, cycling, strength training or playing a recreational sport are all good forms of exercise.

  5. Do I need to buy a lot of equipment to exercise at home?

Absolutely not! Most of my clients have the bare essentials. A mat, stability ball, some dumbbells and gravity are all you really need to get a great workout. The fancy machines you see in modern gyms are not necessary.
